Public participation is fundamental to good public projects and policy.

Not only can it lead to better ideas, but it also helps create the political support needed for implementation.

Unfortunately, public participation is generally no fun. Participating with Pleasure in the Smart City … will outline techniques and ideas for making participation more fun and attractive to people including games, social media, and other interactive forms of information technology.

 

Biografie von Andrew Nash

Andrew Nash is a transport planner using online games, crowdsourcing, social media and websites to improve the public participation process.

His projects include: BusMeister, Grr-Grr-Bike, Working on the Railroad, and Ringstrasse150 (RingRide).

Before moving to Vienna in 2007, he worked at the ETH Zurich and was Executive Director of the San Francisco Country Transportation Authority.
